Angel M. Traub is the principal owner of A. Traub & Associates, a female led law firm located in Arlington Heights. She focuses her practice on divorce, family law, adoption, guardianship, estate planning, and probate and estate administration.

Angel graduated summa cum laude from Northern Illinois University in 1998. She received a B.A. in Corporate Communications with a minor in Spanish, and she was recognized with University Honors and as a Presidential Academic Awardee.

Angel graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in 2001. She was recognized as a member of the Order of John Marshall, Honorary Scholarship Society and as a John Marshall Distinguished Scholar. She also served as a member of The John Marshall Law Review (1999-2001), and she published "The Wall is Down, Now We Build More: The Exclusionary Effects of Gated Communities Demand Stricter Burdens Under the FHA" in The John Marshall Law Review in the fall of 2000. In 2000, she was a regional winner of the Trial Advocacy Competition conducted by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), she participated in the National Mock Trial Competition (NTC), and she served as an intern for Honorable Ronald Guzman, Federal District Court, Northern District of Illinois. In 2001, she was admitted to practice law in the Northern District of the State of Illinois.

Angel represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation cases, focusing primarily on family law, adoption, and guardianship. She also assists with estate planning, estate and trust administration, and contested wills.

Angel believes in providing strong legal advocacy for children in family law cases. She serves as a guardian ad litem (GAL) and representative for children in divorce and family law cases, including disputes over allocation of parental responsibilities and parenting time. She has served as a GAL for more than 13 years in Cook, DuPage, and Kane County, and in addition to family law cases, she has assisted with adoptions and guardianships for disabled adults.

Angel is also a certified mediator who assists in resolving disputes in cases involving divorce, parental responsibilities, family law, and other types of civil litigation. She is court approved to provide mediation services in Cook, Kane, and DuPage Counties, and she has also been approved as a Cook County Financial Mediator. She has received certification and training in collaborative law, and she also serves as a certified arbitrator in DuPage County.

Angel is active in multiple Bar Associations in Illinois. She was elected as the Third Vice President of the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA) in 2019. She has served on the Board of Directors of the DCBA (2007-2012), as Chair of the Real Estate Committee (2017-2018), Chair of the Family Law Committee (2013-2014), Chair of the Membership Committee (2007), and as a member of the Judiciary Committee. She is a committed participant in the DCBA's Annual Judge's Nite production, and she served as Chair of the Judge's Nite Committee (2012-2014) and was the producer of the Judge's Nite show between 2009 and 2014. She has also served as Past-President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers (DAWL) (2007-2008), a member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, the Suburban Bar Coalition Judiciary Committee (2012-2013), The John Marshall Law School Alumni Committee and Mentor Program, the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) (2001 - present), and as Fellow of the ISBA Foundation. She served as a member of the DuPage County Chapter of the American Inns of Court (2007-2014) and as Team Leader from 2008 to 2010. She has worked as a court facilitator for pro se litigants in Rolling Meadows and as an attorney for the DuPage County family law pro se court.

Angel has received the DCBA Board of Director's Award (2009-2010 and 2011-2012) and the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation Pro Bono Service Award (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012). In 2017, she was named as a Top 100 Lawyer by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA) and in the Top 10% of Lawyers in the USA by Lawyers of Distinction. She has received a 10 out of 10 rating on AVVO, and was named an Illinois Super Lawyer from 2020-2024.

Angel regularly presents at continuing legal education (CLE) seminars, addressing areas such as divorce, family law, contested child custody, guardianship, advanced GAL training, estate planning, contested estates, and estate administration. She has also participated in advanced master's courses in subjects such as mediation, negotiation, trial advocacy, estate planning, and child representation.

Angel has served on the Board of the College of DuPage (COD) Foundation (2016 - present) and on the scholarship and alumni committees. She regularly speaks at Law Day events and community events providing information for the general public in the areas of family law, guardianship, and estate planning.
